2025 Forge Road Clean-up

The Friends of Forge Road and Toano have planned a road clean-up along Forge Road, Lakeview Drive, and Little Creek Dam Road to Menzels Road. They have asked the biking community for help in the effort, which will be held on May 10, 2025 from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.

Linda Rice is organizing this event. Participants will meet at Linda's house at 2394 Forge Road. If you can participate, RSVP by May 8 to Michelle Eardly at mpeardly@yahoo.com, or at 757-291-2227.

Since we cycle these roads often, it would be great to have a nice show of support, much as we did for Charles City last year and for the VCT annually.

Pace for Rides:
A (20+ mph)
A- (18-20 mph)
B+ (16-18)
B (14-16)
C (12-14)
D (10-12)
Casual Up to 10 mph, with no one left behind

Please note that these are average speeds for the duration of the ride. If you are new to club rides and aren't sure what pace you can maintain, be conservative with your first ride! Direct all questions, cancellations or updates to our ride coordinator at ridecoordinator@wabonline.org

Helmets are required on all WAB rides.

Registration is required for all WAB rides. Pre-registration online accomplishes the following: 1) the ride leader and other participants know who is coming; 2) you are eligible for club insurance in the event of an accident ; 3) you accept the risks involved in riding; 4) you provide necessary legal protection for club leadership and ride leaders, and 5) we have an easy means to communicate in event of a change or cancellation.
